The use of Hydraulic Fracturing or "fracking" has become something that is becoming a commonly used word in many states down south and now all over the United States; and that's not a good thing. Hydraulic fracking is when a oil company sticks a huge pipe into the earth and blasts a mixture of harmful chemicals and water throughout the ground causing it to crack up the terrain underneath the ground and extract the natural gases from it. This procedure has been very controversial in the potential dangers it has on the environment, and most importantly, the serious health conditions it may impair on humans.

According to a recent study done by Villanova University,  the results of experiments dealing with the area of fracking fields and the relationship of people with health problems are staggering. To be put in simplest terms, " The more natural gas wells in an area, the more of its residents end up in the hospital."  Since more and more studies are showing up with a direct relationship between these fracking sites and decrease in health, even cancer and other serious illnesses for citizens living nearby.

Another huge problem that is reoccurring around areas of fracking sites is the blatant contamination of the water around that area, including water used for drinking, showering, and washing clothes or dishes. There have been numerous reports on how the water has become a muckish- color and tastes metallic; this is brought when the chemicals from fracking seeps into the fresh water that the towns use for there everyday life.

If we do not put up a fight to stop the hydraulic fracturing from spreading and put and end to it all together, there will be severe consequences including our health and well- being as well as the fresh water we take for granted today.
